Verified Grower Policy

The gold checkmark next to a grower’s name is the foundation of trust on PottMenu. This policy describes what it means, how it is earned, and how it can be lost.

1. What Verified means

A Verified Grower is a cultivation business whose license has been checked against publicly available state cannabis licensing data (or, where unavailable, direct confirmation with the relevant state licensing authority) and whose license was active at the time of verification.

2. How verification works

  • The grower submits their legal business name, license number, and issuing state.
  • PottMenu’s license match engine checks the submission against Tier 1 state licensing sources (direct state APIs, updated nightly) and Tier 2 sources (state-published lists, updated regularly) where Tier 1 access is unavailable.
  • A match is scored on license number accuracy, business name similarity, and — where available — geographic proximity to the address on file.
  • High-confidence matches are approved automatically; lower-confidence matches are queued for manual review.

3. What Verified does not mean

Verified status confirms that a cultivation license was active and matched to the account holder at the time of review. It is not an endorsement of product quality, lab results, or business practices, and it is not a guarantee that the license remains active at every future moment.

4. Maintaining Verified status

  • PottMenu periodically re-checks license status against the same state sources used for initial verification.
  • Growers must promptly update their license information if it changes (renewal, new license number, change of business entity).
  • A lapsed, suspended, or revoked license results in removal of Verified status and, where the license entirely lapses, removal of the ability to create new Harvest Cards.

5. Loss of Verified status

In addition to license issues, Verified status may be removed for violations of our Terms of Service or Community Standards, including misrepresenting a harvest or impersonating another grower.

6. Appeals

Growers who believe their verification was rejected or removed in error can request a manual review at support@pottmenu.com.
